Training Participants will Learn:
Healthcare professionals including mental health and substance use disorder treatment providers are on the front line to accurately assess, intervene upon and develop appropriate treatment plans for the impaired patient with substance use disorders with a coexisting chronic pain condition. This can be very difficult when Recovery-Friendly prescription medication management plans are also a major concern. For years the numbers of people experiencing chronic pain and coexisting psychological disorders, including substance use disorders, have been increasing significantly.
Training participants will walk away with a toolbox of enhanced clinical skills that can be put to immediate with people who have chronic pain and potential or actual substance use disorders.
Additionally, those who participate in the three-day training have the opportunity become a Gorski-CENAPS Certified Specialist by submitting an APM Competency Certification Portfolio.
